Large Scale Central

NGRC June 2018 HOTLANTA GEORGIA!!!!!

Clowns are scary and to be avoided!!! This is sounding more and more like I am really going to regret missing this years convention, I alreaday have my plaid suit and straw hat ready in case I can talk CFO into doing this as a business write off. Mrs Bobco and Mrs WFO pizza guys wives may be able give advice on tax implications and incarceration possibilities while we are there, if we make it.

Boomer, I’ll be at the D&B. Not sure I’ll be a dragging anything other than my rearend, but I’ll be bragging about something(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif).

You bringing the Pizza ?

You’ll have to show up to see(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Don’t poke the bear Sean…you have no idea what Dan might inflict on us…

The NGRC website does not have a list of clinics but I am giving two:

I wanted to do “How To Slow Smoke Beef Brisket” but they said 14 hours was to long for a clinic.

And I suspect that the clinic on “How to Eat Beef Brisket” would have been too short for a clinic.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

The convention wraps up Friday night with the banquet (although the vendor area will be open Saturday).

Hollywood and I will be heading north to Andy’s open house / operations session early Saturday morning. In preparation I got #37 out on the track and pulled a few cars that I will be bringing with me.

This engine has very little run time since it got a new transmission and motor so I lubed it up and high-balled for a couple of hours to help limber it up.

Ahh I love it when a plan come together…

Hope to see a bunch of you there.

Four days until I pull chocks and head for Atlanta. Staying in Fort Smith at the halfway point. Eight to ten hours of driving is more than my limit. I am not looking forward to bouncing down the road in the blue stagecoach for two days.

Today is all about getting my paperwork together. Copy of the registration/confirmation numbers, contest entry form, maps of the critical highway intersections and of course details for finding all BBQ joints in Atlanta.

Tomorrow I will pack everything and get the HDAV cleaned and fueled. That will just leave loading up for Friday. Like last year I will try to post daily highlights from the convention. That will be in a new thread that I will open Friday.

Looking forward to meeting everyone down there.

Good luck and have a safe trip Buddy

Looking forward towards the updates… (BBQ joints ) … I mean convention… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Safe travels, Boomer. I highly recommend you have dinner at Doe’s Eat Place in Fort Smith. They will feed you one of the finest pieces of beef you will encounter and it is big enough to choke you and the mule you rode into town on. Looking forward to meeting you next week.

Hey guys,

I hope to see you next week. My wife and I will be on the Monday cruise. Look for the 6’5” guy wearing a grey “Jim Hall Racing” cap.

Joe

If I am able to make it to the convention, I will be wearing a CN logo hat with white hair.

Be sure to stop by the Emerald Coast Garden Railway Club display, and bring a train. I will try to make sure I have something identifying me as an LSC member.

Print out the badge and wear that.

I’ll try to balance an ATSF 2926 on my head for the week.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

If Fred had finished my ICRR City of New Orleans passenger cars he is painting, I would bring the whole train. He finished the E-8’s last year, but the cars are not finished yet.

I will not be able to come to the Atlanta Train show after all. My dad passed away this morning.
