Large Scale Central

SD40-2w Build

the front porch looks like a dance floor , its big!! great line up, and a big difference in the red of the dash 9

Thanks Guys. I’m glad you like my dining room table …. I mean shop track line up. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Pete, that’s definitely a unique feature of it. Once the anti climber is added it will lengthen it by another 1/2".

I got a brake wheel attached to the Dash9 that I purchased from Burl a while back. It looks perfect. I only ordered enough for half of my Dash9’s, so I’ll have to place a second order. This week I’m trying to complete the hand brake assembly on the rear truck. I think it will look good with the brake chain hanging off the truck. I’ll post a photo once it’s complete.

Yes, the brighter red does look a bunch better. Looks now like it belongs with the rest of them.

Forrest, yes, it no longer has to hide in the shadows.

Here’s a brake teaser. I still need to epoxy the two anchor points before painting. Once the truck is mounted, two springs will be added between the chain and locomotive deck.

Excellent !!..working my way up to that level of modeling! Even though it’s not my cup of tea (Constant Comment (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif))

Gotta love the Canadian mods!!

Rooster, you can’t fool me. I’ve been on your build threads and your level of work is just fine. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Shane,

Perhaps I do see and appreciate the work/detail that others may or may not see or understand. I know that the devil is in the details but they do make a difference !

Outstanding work as always and really enjoying your builds!

Man this guy must go thru a lot of green tape and rivets … (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Great work Shane…

Thanks Sean.

I’m done with the Dash9 for now. I need to get battery power and Revo before I can button it up and finish it off. Back to work on the SD40-2w.

Here’s a few photos. The first lets you see the hand brake detail. Springs will be added on the brake chain once it’s together for good. Burl’s brake wheel is perfect. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Paint complete with unit numbers. Still needs a CN logo on the tail. I love the new paint. Aristo couplers work quite well

Not for long. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Kadees are just waiting to be painted and weathered before I mount them. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Shane

Hey hot rod, in your video it looked like your sill stripe may be reflective. Is it and what did you use if it is?

Chris,

You bet it is. I don’t dare run afoul of Transport Canada. I picked up 30’ which should be a lifetime supply. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
