Large Scale Central

1963 1/2 Galaxie 500

Here it is at his ‘shop’ before I took it home. Working on getting the trim on now.

Dang it Jerry! You keep bustin my chops and making my heart race. Beautiful car.

Noel

Red will look spectacular!

The red definitely looks good!

Thanks Ray, that is the Rangoon Red they used that year. Roof is Ford metallic black from this year. Still putting trim on. Got the door and trunk weather stripping on-great fun, NOT! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

Its always the little details that take the most time…and patience.

  1. Find one. You’ll be surprised.

Dave,

I’ve sunk so much into this money pit I think the 352 will be fine. I’m just an old cruiser anymore. Was crazy back when I first got my 65 Mustang right out of college. Had fun with it in Germany and all over, with it’s dual glass packs in those narrow streets.

406 is still an FE. Think 352-390-406-427. You’ll see the 406 is a bit closer in the 4-engine series to a 427 than a 352 is…and they’re a whole lot cheaper (and easier to find) than a 427.

I need to see if someone has an aluminium 2X4 manifold.

You got a posi in that?

Jerry…really looking sharp - will be a great ride. Yeah, any/all weatherstripping work is sooooo much fun! How well I remember the day in’63 that my switchman buddy drove into the yard office parking lot with his new black '63 XL 390 4-speed. Ooooh, but it was sweet! However, my '63 Plymouth 383 4-speed could walk all over him! Ahhhh…deja vu! Thanks for sharing photo’s and progress! Just about done with the side chrome. Clips that hold it on are a pain. Bumpers should be back next week.

Costs a LOT to get a car repainted. Paint is $540 a gallon, for instance.

I remember when I did the repaint on the Monte only $850 including paint. Looking good tho Jerry. Later RJD

Most excellent Jerry. Have a friend that just wet sanded and buffed his Chevy he is now on the Hot Rod Power Tour. I’m still working on the disc. change over but all most done.

Have Fun

Thanks guys. First roll out today with all the trim on. Fed Ex guy brought the bumpers while I was gone today and put them in the barn for me! Nice guy. So, should get them on soon and finish up some details.

Boy that red makes it look fast even @ a stop!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Nice Job Jerry!

That’s a ticket magnet, fer sure. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)Beautiful.
