Aristo Sierra combine & coach bash

What do you get when you cross a Sierra combine & coach? So far I got this.

More work to be done but you get the idea. Dennis

Do you have any larger photos, looks good but kinda hard to tell !

I did “Ctrl +” 10 times, but it kinda smudged out. :stuck_out_tongue:

Took down sizing the pix to extremes

Bob C.

Yes, the images were small. I changed them to larger size images for your browsing pleasure.
Dennis

That looks really good. Did the paint shop go out on strike, again? :stuck_out_tongue:

I was sorta wonderin’ how those truss rods were gonna work??

Bob C.

Bob,
The truss rods will be changed to one rod on each side. I just need to locate the correct stock to match the turnbuckles.
Dennis

Neat project!

A little more progress.

Marty tried this several years ago on MLS forum. End result was worth the effort. From memory, there was some push to attempt to convince Aristo to take on the project and factory release the cars.

Dennis,
excellent result. I love oversized coach kitbashes.

Thanks Tim,
I have some more work to smooth out the joint between the 2 coaches but I’m getting there.
Dennis

Very nice so far Dennis!

Sweet!

Looking good! It’s nice to see some coaches of a more prototypical length. Most of us don’t have the wide curves needed to run such long cars.

Ray,
They look longer in the pictures. They’re only around 28" long. I have some 8’ diameter curves that they should negotiate.
Dennis

Great looking cars Dennis.

A little more progress after a beautiful New Years day in southern New England. I can’t believe I got to paint these in January.

Thanks Dennis

The primer/paint really helps. They look alot more prototypical lengthwise.

HMMMMMMMMMMM, I do like the style of those Sierra coaches better than the B’mann ones…I may steal this idea…
