Build Your Own Arduino Based DCC Controller

Since I saw Geoff Bunza’s posting about a build-it-yourself DCC decoder (see: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/19070 ) I have been experimenting with that device and have just finished up an Arduino based DCC controller.

There is a video showing it in action as well as details on its construction on my web page.

The controller is still under development and is likely to change over time but it works well enough right now to be worth exploring.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions ([email protected] )

thanks!

Question; could this decoder be set up to throw a relay? It would be kinda cool if I could remotely start my mine train, one I relay the track that is.

David - it sure can - I have some notes on my web page here:

http://www.trainelectronics.com/DCC_Arduino/index.htm

and have designed and ordered custom circuit boards that have a space for a DPDT relay and 3 servos.

Lots of potential!

Dave, cool. You just might get me over to the tech side yet.
