Large Scale Central

Some new(to me) stuff

a fellow club member is selling off most of his outdoor stuff and I got a few things the other day

First off was a nice station, I may redo it into something else, but its in pretty good shape

second is the auto shop. the left side broke when I moved it after I got home , clean up and re glue it back on

and these 2 buildings, which are a little sunburnt but easy to fix up and maybe repaint

and the original reason for the visit, was to buy this brand new , only taken out to swap couplers and add metal wheels, center flow hopper. I may go back if its still available as he has a NW-2 I would like to have. now to get them fixed and decide what to do with them

Big question is do I keep the train station a train station and start looking for passenger cars, or make it something else. Decisions, decisions!!

Pete,

Nice LGB ATSF 3 bay hopper car. Thanks for posting it.

It looks like you use Aristo-Craft knuckle couplers?

I found one like that, too, so I could not resist showing it.

As you probably know, I have been using body mount Kadee centerset couplers fitted in 3-D printed “CamPac” coupler boxes that I designed in concert with Colin Camarillo - available on his website.

Ted that’s how it came, I have seen The CamPac box you worked so hard to develop. I will be ordering a set from Colin, thanks for making it available.

Yanno, a few old passenger stations have been turned into residential homes,

stores, or even historical museums, so don’t feel that you need to purchase

passenger cars just because you have a passenger station…

Just my 2 cents worth… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I say use it as excuse to add passenger service!

Andy , I am weighing all options, as I already have a warbonnet F3 , but i am used to seeing them pull freight so … Besides decent passenger cars are rather spendy compared to more freight cars

I’m with Eric. Get at least three passenger cars. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Pete, maybe a cheaper idea would be to buy some of the Bachmann passenger coaches and pull them with the F-3 as a Museum Railfan or tourist run…

Use the station as the pickup and drop off point… Scatter some RR equipment around the station… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
