      RIP Ken Hawes

      Long time NHGRS member Ken Hawes has passed away.  He was well known for his burning building and forest fire modules that smoked up the ECLSTS and other NHGRS Big Green displays.  While he had been retired to FLORIDA for a while he still kept busy with trains.  His complete obituary can be found at https://baldwincremation.com/obituaries/kendall-arthur-hawes/.

      Good model railroaders are always missed when their caboose lamp goes dark.

      Scott;

      Sorry to learn of Ken's passing.  So many special people created wonderful special effects for the Big Green layout.  Always enjoyed watching the Big Green, and even got to run on it on occasion.  Don't know if we will ever have an ECLSTS as grand as the York shows were, but still hope it can happen.

      Sincerely, David Meashey
