Hi All,

I’ve just started a post on some turnouts I’m building, thought a quick intro might be in order.

My name is Neil, and I live in New Zealand. I’m an engineer, working in high voltage substations. Unfortunately over-thinking and over the top construction is my stock in trade, and occasionally sometimes often carries over into hobbies… Ah well.

Got started in GR in 2007 at our old place and had a few hundred feet of track down before we moved in 2012. I was posting on the other site till the Foto Fiasco trashed most of my build threads, so I’ve been lurking here for the last couple of years to get my fix.

I recognise a few of the names around here, including some who welcomed me to MLS back in 2007. Sorry you couldn’t shake me off that easily…

Hope to post a bit as I get into the next layout. Land has been approved, but a hiccup in timing of a deck means I’m gonna start a temporary yard this summer in a sacrificial garden, all going well.

Just as a reminder, New Zealand is +16 hours from EDT. The sun won’t come up there for a bit…so, unless Neil is like Ken, he won’t get on for sometime yet.

The jump from MLS to here is worthwhile, yes.
