Rick, they made an announcement at the ECLSTS that they would be back next year. Now that there are firm dates, I am starting to believe it.

sounds like another great time! Think I might make the trek out there next year for it, sorry Andy (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I’ll bring you a chair and we can sit on either side of dad ! He would LOVE that!!

If someone were to fly out for this show, what airport would they use? It would be nice to see if I could plan on attending as it’s on my bucket list to come and actually meet you guys face to face. How far from the airport is York?

Looks like Harrisburg airport is your best bet. About 40 minutes north of York.

Depending if any of these (3) airports have the flights you need they are all within 45-60 minutes.
Capital City
Harrisburg
Lancaster

While the PA airports are certainly closer, Baltimore (BWI) would I presume have many more flights. It is located 65 miles and 1:20 south of York, all interstate highways. Including the Baltimore Beltway (695) which does get congested during rush hour.

Take your pick

Jerry

Probably way cheaper to fly into BWI …HIA does have a car rental facility though (Amtrak is right there but not into York) gonna need a car…can’t do a commercial flight into Capital City.

Chuck,
The flight over is cheap, how the heck are you going to get everything home? Oh I know, all of us west coasters can give you a list of want we want, and than you can shove it all into a shipping container for the travel west. I’m thinking a 40’ container would be enough space for everything.

I too have had thoughts about flying out too, but I know my wallet would take huge hit with all the shipping!

One year one of the shippers did have a booth at the ECLSTS. I don’t remember if it was UPS or FedEx, but either way I thought it was a good idea. That’s probably why they only did it one year.

The couple yrs i was able to make it down 'n over to ECLSTS I flew in/out of YYC-YTO-MDT (harrisburg).

Rental car from there to take in all the sights planned, previous to the show weekend. Second yr hung out for a couple extra days railfan’ MD with Mac 'n JV (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
