A DL-109? Wonder what one would look like in CN two-tone green. Milwaukee had a couple different paint schemes. New Haven had an attractive one in green and orange with pinstripes on orange.

Southern, Santa Fe, GM&O also had them but I was thinking more about the roads closer to Canada.

Impressive to say the least. Its nice to see someone take a genuine interest in producing products that are not generally available from the big manufacturers. Mark, in your experience, how well do the 3D printed shells hold up to the rigors of outdoor use? Thanks for sharing.

A real “babyface” would be actually a baldwin not an ALCo, they are close though, especially the “Black Maria”

I’ll use abs for smaller parts, but for the most part I use PLA on all these prototypes. Granted I also have done extensive field testing to figure out the right thicknesses and infills to achieve this will good results. Long term use outdoors requires different infill and shell requirements vs prototype thickness
