A technical question/concern?

Hi folks,

Want some advice on the following issue: I have two spare sets of Aristo power trucks (4 trucks in total) for my two RS3’s. They are still in the original Aristo factory packaging and I have never used them. Does anyone see any issue with the gears sitting so long in their original grease? Is the plastic being harmed in any way? Should I take them apart, clean all the grease out until I’m ready to re-power my RS3’s?

Just want to get some people’s thoughts.

Mike

Plastic should be fine. I doubt that the grease has dried out if the trucks are still sealed in the original plastic. Should be good to go.

If you do decide to open, inspect and clean, just use a small amount of grease.

I agree with Steve. I have four new motor blocks also. The packages are not sealed but still the grease has not dried, out only grease i have seen dried out was the white grease Lionel used in the 50’s,if you do open one to look at the only thing i have found is the U-joint to be lacking lube.

cheers richard

Thanks for the advice guys.

If/when I ever need to re-power my Rs3’s - I will certainly check the lubrication before the blocks are used.
