Large Scale Central

RGS Operations

Bump

Mark your calender’s. After some discussion, formal operations on the RGS, PA division will be held April 29-30 2017 from 10am to whenever. Friday will be a run-what-you-brung day for any early arrivals. Lunch will be provided. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can get the span done connecting Hesperus and Mancos…

bout time  maybe ill be stateside for one of the next ones and can make a trip out that way!

On our calendar, plans are to make the trek.

Glad to see this. I can’t commit quite yet, but I’ve been itching for a road trip in Marilyn’s new car and you are just about the right distance. What do you suggest in your area for low cost accommodations? I generally don’t have a problem with Red Roof or Motel 6 (as long as the light is on) but stay away from Super 8 and Days Inn.

I have no idea, Jon, but you might want to contact Bruce since Jean and him have stayed overnite a few times while visiting Longwood Gardens. Most of the accommodations are in the Kennett/Longwood area. Further out along the Rt1/Rt 202 corridor you may find a few more.

Heh…we mostly stay at B&B when visiting Longwood. The one time we visited Ken I had a coupon for a free night and stayed about 30 minutes away…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

Hmmmm… I know Ken’s yard is more than big enough to fit our camper…

Man, this sounds to good to pass up. April sounds good too, since we might be moved in and settled down a bit by then. Give me a month or two before I give a definite.

I’d love top bring ours too but I’ve lost confidence in my trucks ability to tow more than an hour or two. It’s 13 years old and 172K miles now. Blew up an air conditioner compressor on the way to Bob’s last summer. Really don’t want to risk a major breakdown by pushing the old girl too hard. Time to sell the camper, or trade the truck for something younger.

That’s what happened to me with the white Windstar I had. Every time I drove it another warning light came on on the dashboard. It also had a 100K and some miles on it. I was getting leery of driving any distance with it, so off to the car dealer it went. The T & C I traded it in for had a lot more bells and whistles than what I needed, but the color and the price was right.

We’ll need about 40 feet by 40 feet and probably best to stay on a hard surface like the driveway in April. It’ll all work.

By then the stack of firewood should be gone, so if you can get it in there, there should be plenty of room. You’ve been here, you should know where I mean.

Rooster books a room for 2 at Rics motel

Just an FYI Hotels within a half hour drive of West Grove.

Wilmington Pike is Rt 202 going towards West Chester. Concord Pike is Rt 202 going towards Wilmington, DE., Baltimore Pike is Rt 1.

Hmmmm maybe ill have to look at my schedule. Cant I pitch my tent up in the yard?

A little over an hour drive from here bro and welcome to stay with guests of your choice.

I wonder if Steve McKenzie would like a trip…too bad we couldn’t do it at the same time as the ECLSTS…on the Sunday.

Maybe if Steve could get away, and I could find some cash…

…and, Ken; I wouldn’t wreck your toilet…or cause any problems…and Steve is house trained, so he would be ok. !!

Well, Steve asked earlier when the Canadian Invasion was, so let him know. I’m not all that sure about the weather in April, but March is usually a whole lot iffier. This date was a kind of a compromise and a 2 day event. But I’ll be open after the EC show if anyone’s interested.

I have a new toilet Fred, it sits higher for you older folks so you won’t have to bend down as far…besides, I have a big ol’ woods behind the layout, so the walk won’t be as far. …(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Plenty of room, right behind Ric’s Motor Home and Vincent’s camper ( I may have to register this place with the KOA!)…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
