Large Scale Central

Collision Avoidance Module

Big Boys Toys, LLC has announced the release of the CAM-100 automatic Collision Avoidance Module for all DC, DCC, and R/C large scale locomotives. The system consists of a small (1.75” x 1.75”) circuit board that is positioned inside the locomotive shell and a 5mm diameter (LED-sized) sensor head mounted on the front of the locomotive.

The CAM-100 incorporates the latest technology available in automotive cruise control systems. It utilizes a combination of infrared and acoustic proximity sensing to automatically detect obstructions in front of the locomotive. The locomotive will decelerate and come to a full stop if an obstruction is detected, and accelerate back to original speed when the obstruction is cleared. Deceleration and acceleration rates are adjustable. Sensing range is adjustable from one half to five meters. All settings are made via onboard jumper blocks.

The CAM-100 is inserted in series between the locomotive motor and the power input. The unit can support up to three motors. Total maximum current is limited to 6 amps. An auxiliary digital output can be used to automatically trigger a horn or whistle from a sound card when an obstacle is detected.

Introductory MSRP is $19.95. Quantity discounts are available. Availability during LRIP (low rate initial production) may be limited. Please contact your nearest large scale retailer or Big Boys Toys, LLC for additional information. Although this technology is designed for all large-scalers, it is especially applicable for enthusiasts like JJ and Stan.

Boy Bob, you are on a roll this April Fools Day!

you’re the best Bob !

Pat

Bob, you realize that JJ and Stan had a wreck on the internet, trying to be the first one to order it…

I had one on order, but the delivery truck was damaged in a collision.

Bob… I am so sorry I missed this yesterday… Thanks for the head’s up email…

I tried to order one for me and for JJ but his CC # was declined.

The server informed me that his card had been maxxed just a few minutes before I tried.

He must have bought all the stock.

Thanks so much for thinking of us and the other souls we run with…

SIGH…

SO you are saying this could possibly be Andy’s fault then?
