Large Scale Central

My Favorite Train Food

Poor Poor Mrs. Boomer:P

Now the other food group is BBQ. I like all types from Memphis to Amarillo as long as it is spicy. But the best is mine.

Brisket chopped or sliced:

Then there is the other white meat, pork ribs:

That looks great… now I am hungry!

Sorry no pictures but on the Kittatinny Mountain RR nothing beats a Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a roll, for breakfast. (South Jersey they call it pork roll). Then for dinner you have to go with a nice pizza. After all NJ/NY makes the best pizza. By the way no one from Jersey says Joisey. Its the out of staters that call it that.

Smoked BBQ Brats, potato salad, and Rhubarb Cobbler. And there goes the cholesterol meter!!

The wife whipped up up Green Chili cheese burgers for dinner last night. Just plain good eats.

I don’t know if its national or just in the South West But even our local Mickey Ds serves a Green Chili Cheese burger.

Boomer was those your very own brisket and ribs we had at your house?

Out here it has to be Carne Asada, thin steaks marinated overnight in a tangy salsa and cooked over a hot BBQ grill, served with grilled green chili’s & grilled peppers. Over Easter I cooked up 7 lbs of asada for family, then another 4 lbs about a month later. No leftovers.

Darn guys, now I am really hungry. The best rib joints we had around here went out of business years ago. And good Mexican is hard to find around here. Dinner tonight is what I can find in the fridge, probably hot dogs and perogies.

Train food? I’ll let you know after our VIA trip to Winnipeg. Sleeper tickets include the meals and since we’ll be on the train for two full days there should be enough meals to write a review.

From what I read the food on VIA is considerably better than AMTRAK’s.

Yeah, between the LDL count and the weigh-in going crazy it’s a real downer.

When Dr. “I-don’t-believe it” (during the angioscopy) said “I don’t believe it” it could be either good or bad. Other than the aortic valve being on the bum, all arteries as clean as a whistle.

Just give me a thick  medium don  Hamburger on a toasted Kaiser roll with a thick slice of read onion. Maybe a little butter spread on the roll. Now that good eats.
