Large Scale Central

1/3rd scale South African NG Garratt....

built in Switzerland for a discerning customer…real, but smaller. Weighs 3 tons, almost fifteen feet long, and built from plans of the full-size loco obtained from HANOMAG. It runs on 7.25" gauge track,

Nothing is missing from the model - if it is on the full-size version, then it is here also.

There is also a movie of it running in steam…if you are interested, I’ll let you find it.

Wow, that is a serious operation they have there. I always liked Garretts, but I would hate to even guess what that one cost.

Awesome work. Cost? This probably falls under the Nelson Rockefeller category…if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it!

…and I was thinking it had to run at least $60,000 maybe $70,000 for something like that. But $311,000 plus? I’m not even thinking in the right scale.

On conversion, just over $311,000.

I’ll settle for that shade of blue, so it won’t need a respray job.

…I wish.
