As of 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon (1600), Uncle Sam says we have to go home because of the Gummerment shut down. Oh well, working on track at AndyC’s tomorrow. Federal campgrounds are closing up, but leased property like the marina will stay open.
I have a bunch of friends & family that camp at Smokemont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park every year for the Indian Fair. This will be the first time in 70 years that members of my wife’s family have not camped in the park for the fair.
They’re all scrambling for alternative camp sites.

Do you mean Elkmont? Never heard of Smokemont, does mean it doesn’t exist. Elkmont is a great place to camp. This whole thing is sad. Son in law was headed to Land between the Lakes. He’s pissed, 38 and says throw them all out.
Damn, another road trip. I guess I’m going to have to extend my stay on this planet. Thanks Ralph didn’t know about that one. Looks nice.

Campgrounds are back open for the end of season push to the end of the month. Too busy right now to enjoy, but they are back open.
