Large Scale Central

3/4" to the foot scale live-steam?

Anybody here built, or know of anybody who has built, a 3.5" gauge/3/4" scale Heisler using the Japanese gentleman’s plans?

Me and John here are getting serious about such a venture.

Terry,
perhaps a search on the ‘other’ site may be fruitful.

I have Kozo’s book on the “Climax” and “Building The New Shay” and will highly recommend any of his books. I haven’t built any locomotives but the machining methods that he uses is very useful for other projects. Some day, I would like to build 2 1/2" scale climax out of barstock using his methods.
Ed Hume has built a 20.3 narrow gauge climax using his book. Do a search for him and it will show up.

Thanks, Gentlemen - I have the older version of the Shay book, but John - the master engineer in this project [I just make the coffee] saw my movies from OR last year and really got lit up about the Heisler. Me, I’m just happy doing anything that keeps me wanting to be vertical and breathing.

He’s going to pay for the book, he says.
