    • Those turned out great Mike, though I think Rooster may be a little disappointed that his tag is missing.

    •  Well I finished car #2 of this build yesterday and here are a few shots of it. I have two beautiful grand kids , Evelyn and Abigail, and thus the graffiti of their names on the sides.  Car # 10057 is Abigail's and #10094 is Evelyn's . I also started putting yellow reflective stripes on all my rolling stock as I try to model today's railroads . I bought it off Amazon and I am very impressed with it's thinness and adhesion to my rolling stock. The name of the tape is JNK Networks 0.2 inch by 150 feet . Here's a link for it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QQGJ4MB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It's also very reflective and adds a touch of realism . Can't wait to see the train at night . Hope you liked this build and am looking forward to my next project , thanks for your comments !

It works if I apply power to one of the 2 connectors. I just can't figure out where the 2 connectors connect to and how I get track power to turn the wheels.

Surely the other 2 are to the wheel pickups?  This is a standard Aristo Doodlebug motor block, which I think is the same as the FA ? Someone must have fixed one. Lou - I found the exploded parts diagram if you want it - but it doesn't have a wiring diagram. Doesn't even show the wheel pickups; just the motor feed.

But I still appreciate any help, moral or otherwise.

    • and figure out how to wire the power block. I may need help with the last item

If you send it back I'll try and fix it. I still feel guilty for not checking it before you got it!

    • Painted body and roof this weekend.

Now all I need to do is finish windows, grab irons and steps, pantograph, inside walls, engineer enclosure and seat, decals, and figure out how to wire the power block. I may need help with the last item.

    • someone market one at one time?

Yes, as John posted, unfortunately just one!

Looks like an easy 3D print + bits project. Accucraft coach trucks, etc.

    • Based on my research:

      [Quote

1:20.3 D&RGW Silver Vista project offered by Ward Hammond of Classic Reflections"

"Seems that Mr. Hammond's model building resources have been prioritized to Barry Bogs. As such, orders placed as far back as summer of 2007 for the Silver Vistas, have still yet to be processed."

"In fact, it is being reported that since commissioning the construction of cars, only one 1:20.3 has been delivered. (We assume this must be Dean Lowe's )"

    • I remember now.  It was marketed under Classic Reflections.

John is that one of them?

    • One was built by a noted modeler who's name escapes me right now. It was years ago and pics were posted on the online fora.

As to marketed versions, I have never seen or heard of one.

    • I recall LGB making one, but not in 1:20.3 - The only thing I can find on Google is the prototype model the LGB car was based on, no listings anywhere I can find of the actual car.

It looks like a nice project that might be able to be built up on top of a gondola or flat.

EDIT to Add:  From the site I stole the picture from "The car that I sent to LGB was highly considered for production, but due to the fact that the D+RGW only had one car like it, and production of the roof would be very expensive, the project was scraped. "

No, but there is a fresh batch of chicks at the local hatchery so I'm thinking about a live load.
