Need LGB Alco 2056 motor and gears

On the the Alco LGB 2056 it looks like it takes the long shaft motor, is that correct, now for the axle gear, should I get just the gear, gear with axle, or the gear, axle, wheel combo. How do the wheels remove from the axle, are they pressed on, etc. If you have the part numbers that would be great, plus any info to replace the gear would also help, thanks for any help on this.

Usually it is the idler gear that fails in these LGB locos. Long shaft motor is correct. Motor and idler are removed from the top.

LGB-62007 is a pair of idler gears.# TL39-00133 is a pair of axles with the correct gear but I can not tell for sure if it is the correct wheel size.

Thanks Dan, I will look into the wheel size which I’m sure is 37mm. Are the wheels pressed on to the axles, or how do they come on and off another way, thank, trainman

The people at “Only Trains” are very knowledgeable about LGB products, and may be a good source of information, and parts. They have been very helpful for me in the past…
