Make sure to check out the Monson RR #4 running outside in the parking lot! This is a real working steam locomotive, two foot gauge. It had been a standard worker at the Edaville Railroad in South Carver Mass. We have had it for a year plus at the Wiscasset Waterville and farmington railway museum.

I was there on Saturday morning and was able to meet up with Dan P. We had a nice conversation and I was really surprised at the amount of people who were there. That 20,000 figure was more like the “by 10:00 estimate. When I left at 11:00, the ticket line was about half way back to the parking area. It was a very impressive show for sure. My first reaction to the steam loco was how much work moving it there must have been!

It’s hard to believe that runs on this size track … or …maybe just for this type of display …Eric ?

My son and I probably road behind it one time in Carver.

Got a cab ride that time, too

The attached photo must be 40 years old - taken at Edaville. And yes, that’s me when I was young and handsome.

The rail they used for the show is smaller than we use on our main line…i think that is 30# rail we use 60#rail (pounds per yard) we do have some of the light rail in our yard where speeds are slow.

I am glad you got to see it last weekend!
