I will be there with the Mohegan-Pequot Model RR Club G Gauge/Central Connecticut G Gaugers Modular Group. We are in the middle of the Young Bldg. in area #84, stop by and chat with us.

This will be the 25th or 26th year of the M-P having a G scale layout at the Amherst Show, a lot has changed since then! I think that some of us got older!!!!

Make sure to check out the Monson RR #4 running outside in the parking lot!  This is a real working steam locomotive, two foot gauge.  It had been a standard worker at the Edaville Railroad in South Carver Mass.  We have had it for a year plus at the Wiscasset Waterville and farmington railway museum.

I was there on Saturday morning and was able to meet up with Dan P. We had a nice conversation and I was really surprised at the amount of people who were there. That 20,000 figure was more like the “by 10:00 estimate. When I left at 11:00, the ticket line was about half way back to the parking area. It was a very impressive show for sure. My first reaction to the steam loco was how much work moving it there must have been!

      From Eric's post above:

My son and I probably road behind it one time in Carver.

Got a cab ride that time, too :-)

The attached photo must be 40 years old - taken at Edaville.  And yes, that's me when I was young and handsome.

The rail they used for the show is smaller than we use on our main line...i think that is 30# rail we use 60#rail (pounds per yard)  we do have some of the light rail in our yard where speeds are slow.

I am glad you got to see it last weekend!
