Large Scale Central

Finishing some more projects.

Wrapping up the mine loader for the end of Dead Rooster Gulch / Steppes.

All I need to do is finish the lighting, add some chain for the chutes, and get it out of the shop.

Also, in my “Either finish it or throw it away” pile, I’m going to complete my 7/8 interpretation of a Clayton Equipment battery powered mining locomotive. I’ve had this started for about 15 years.

Ive had one cab 3/4 complete since I started. I just cut out the styrene for the other cab, and started assembly of it.

Wow, the mine loader looks great and really big (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)That will be a nice addition to the RR. Please keep us posted on the mining loco. That looks like a neat project.

Got the second cab about half done.

Neat build!

Went to Clayton’s UK site and clicked it off …way to many distractions!!!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Jim Russell has a great collection of 7/8 industrial equipment. http://jimrusselltrains.blogspot.com/2015/02/gallery-of-mine-locomotive-and-mine.html?m=1

Wow! Cool stuff, Bob. That mine loader looks great. Is that for a coal mine, or gold?

Then why aren’t you doing 7/8 instead of that AMcr#$? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Not coal. Some kind of ore, not sure yet;Bolognium? Upsidaisium? I need to figure out what outbuildings I want and how the mine head will be.

I really thought you were mining unobtanium! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Will it be in place for TrainOps THIS year?

I have seen machines like that used in the Leverite industry(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Yep, its about to go into the shed. I’ll need to build the base for it but that’ll just be a concrete pad.

Get an Assayer!

Two Thanksgivings ago I ran into a rich vein of Discombopulating Ore and I haven’t been the same since!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

See? I’m even late to the joke!

Bob,

Tell me about those set up magnets. (I think they are magnets)

Thanks!

Bruce ,

I’m not a betting man but I’m thinking the sneaky SOBD is probably mining cocksafloppin and secretly selling it to Russians via the “Racoon Creek Exchange Company” in return for their Russian unobtanium so he can continue on with secret project 96 .

It is “Dead Rooster Gulch” which he is mining right? I’m thinking that you may have to pay attention as too how many times the Marta Louise passes over that trackage before and after the install !

Well, it made me go look up “Leverite”.

Neat project, Bob… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Spent a few hours today in the shop continuing to flesh out the second cab. Have the basic shape finished, and have started adding all the greeblies on the sides of this one.

Nice progress… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
