New raised line with bigger curves

A couple years ago we moved from ground level to a raised line. We started small with tight curves as most stuff we had was LGB Euro. But we have changed to a wild west theme with a live steam Aster V&T Reno, along with my old Kalamazoo 4-4-0. A new raised line was bought, painted to weatherproof it somewhat. Track is partially done. Just ordered half of the curves I need(Piko R7, 10’dia). Soon my wife and i will be able to run trains again. The loop is single track with passing tracks on both sides. Track is LGB and Piko for the curves.

Looks nice… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Nice job on the bench work and that is one fine looking locomotive.

Thanks Todd, she is actually for sale, along with the 2 coaches as a package deal. I had the chance to buy a model I have seen in books since I was a child. A Bing for Bassett Lowke GWR Titley Court in gauge one live steam. Vintage live steam has long been a desire to own and run, now its time to enjoy that. I will replace the wild west depot with a UK style one, once I find a suitable example. Mike the Aspie

Mike,

Looking GOOD! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks Joe! Hopefully I will have the new raised line up and running soon, I am redecking the benchwork with treated fence slats to give a warp free surface. The original material, despite several coats of paint on both sides was not suitable. I had enough second hand treated fence slats to redo 3/4 of the layout already. Only have one straight section left that will need wood purchased to compete it. Once the Reno sells, some of those funds will purchase the remaining half circle of 10’ dia track I need. Along with some rolling stock for the GWR Court class locomotive to pull. I will be adding an O gauge loop to the railway in the future as well. Mike the Aspie
