Fake Crime Scene Added To Storied Exhibit At LA County Fair

! Really? The guy thinks folks are not going to drink in his pub because they see little plastic people getting arrested?

Idiots… and have you been to Pomona? Not an unusual situation… The scenes on the layout are to evoke people looking at them… what now? Can’t have a simulated building fire because it reflects poorly on the fire department? Will Union Pacific sue the County Fair if there is a train derailment on the layout with a UP loco?

Idiots… did you hear the reporter imply there is a manhunt for the specific person who put that on the layout?

The head of the club that manages the layout is in our train club, I’m going to ask him what he thinks.

Greg

Some people need to get a life…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Wow…I’m speechless :(. Like Greg said, the exhibit has all kinds of vignettes showing daily life in Southern California and to my knowledge ha ever had to remove an exhibit because it "might’ be politically incorrect. Actually in spite of what the pub owner said, this scene can be seen on a daily basis. What is California famous for now? Car chases and the subsequent arrest and the preverbal suspect/suspects flat on the ground and cuffed. Remind NOT to visit this idiot’s “pub” the next time I’m in Pomona.

Sad commentary :(.

What’s next? The dog can’t pee on the fire hydrant? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

You want PC…, better not look too close at Del Oro. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

BTW, local car chases are a real PITA when they occur at 11 PM and the networks will devote the entire news cast to following some stupid idiot around town regardless of speed or danger.

Agree with all of you!

We are model railroaders our creations reflect the world around us, good and bad.

Yet another example of professional whiners thumping their chest in offense just to get their fifteen minutes of fame.

What a crybaby…Who cares? Its reality. People like that are the reason the human race is getting weak.

“You want PC…, better not look too close at Del Oro.”

True dat! Those guys are great!

Fake?

I want to thank all the above posters for their responses. Some idiots ruin things for the rest of the public. Lord only knows what they would say about some of the vignettes I will create for my 1930’s to 50’s era layout. Reality is a PITA for some, but I don’t think any of them have found a Utopia. Google, pomona california arrest, and you get “About 825,000 results (0.39 seconds)”

Too funny. I remember Model Railroader WAY back when, and the “controversy” with publishing some “nude” photos of a Westin figure for a very detailed passenger car. Ah, there’s just no tellin’ what folks can get upset about - BUT, SO many articles talk about the attraction of vignettes in a layout - I suspect that’s what inspired the originator here; yeh! Folks LOVE this sort of thing. Now, he’ll probably get lots of hate mail and death threats. Holy CRAP!

Sigh

Is this what we have come to? So many people have replaced their sense of humor with a sense of outrage… over nothing. Snowflakes!

My club has had a similar issue. A barn emblazoned with the famous “mail pouch tobacco” signs was taken off of my club’s winter holiday display last year. Presumably it was because it referenced tobacco. Children view the layout, but they wouldn’t even notice it. The mail pouch tobacco signs are historic, and historically accurate for the layout’s late 50’s era. I even saw real one on a trip to Pittsburgh this summer.

LSOL would not publish the original pics of my Chameleon Caverns Hot Tubs because the figures were painted nude. We put bathing suits on them to get them on-line.

Just read the comments below the video, bleeding hearts looking for something to complain about, what is this society coming to, the display was speaking the truth about life in the city.

All they needed to do was place a wrecked car with flat tires depicting the end of a police pursuit, something that’s on the news here every other day it seems.

This is a good time for me not to say what I want to say!

My apologies Bob, and anyone else I may have offended, I wasn’t thinking clearly

Same here, John. My tongue still hurts from biting it so hard.
