I dunno. Being a NG guy, I like the wavy track look.

Thanks guys. Got to spend an hour or so out there tonight in between rain showers. Trimmed up most of the trees.  I have a lot of volunteer Hemlocks. They look OK when they are small, but pretty ugly at 18". The one on the left of this shot,  just inside the start of the curve, I cut back to just the trunk. Am thinking of rigging a spar pole or something with it.

The garden inside the curve should get a bit more light now. I moved around some Creeping Jenny to try and cultivate some of the unusual Sedums Marilyn got me and only a few sprigs survived the winter.

Probably no photo ops until after TrainOps. When the weather and my time cooperate I'll grab a few of those angles with some trains.

I pulled apart the last 4 feet or so on the East end by the bridge to redo it. Much happier with how it looks now. Just need to move a few things in the background...

The light colored pebbles in the dry wash under the bridge came from the same beach as most of this rock...

I trimmed up a bunch of the trees including all but cutting down a volunteer Hemlock in it's 4th or 5th season which opened up some new views...

I need to buy my neighbor a couple of 7 foot Arborvitae to replace the ones she killed to close in this view...

The volunteer Hemlock at left of center is now just a post with a little growth on top

Pull back for a lower angle...

Now I need to see is Shawn M. taught me how to prune the Spruce trees.

Haven't had much chance to work out in the garden between heat and humidity and nearly continuous late afternoon thunderstorms.  I have continued to pick up rocks and pebbles every time we visit our favorite island on Candlewood Lake. Tonight I had a chance to get a few hours in on the rock work.  I decided to open up the view from the inside of the curve by eliminating the table and fire bowl. Those items were blocking the view from our porch and standing on the walk inside the curve.

Next; I started enhancing the rock work on the inside of the curve, I only managed to re-work about two feet down grade of the bridge, but I'm happy with the result. I thought about getting a train out for these pictures, but the thunderstorm threat kept it indoors.  Here is the view from where the table was; looking toward the track and bridge behind the church...

Swinging around the tree and over the bridge is a view down grade. Rock work on the right of the track from the bridge to the greenery is what was rebuilt...

Close up from inside up-grade of the church...

Now I need to trim those Spruce trees

Because you have none out in the desert?  Depth of field trickery. What isn't in the foreground is in reality 30 feet or more beyond the track and is my neighbor's hedge of Hemlock trees. Because this area is 4 feet higher than my back lawn the grass is out of view.
