2 Weeks Left Post Photo Here

Hello Fellow Builders! There are 2 weeks left in The 2015 Mik’s Build Challenge Contest which will come to an official close February 15th. There are many very clever and amazing builds coming together as the time winds down.

There are many fine build logs to check into for the latest updates but it is a challenge to keep them all straight so as we did last year I would like all the builders to put one photo here to show their progress to date.

Just post your name, a quick blurb and a photo. If you feel the need to comment on someones build please go to their build logs and comment there.
Lets keep this thread clean and uncluttered to give us all an idea of where we are.

Up to date

Well here’s where the shop crew is on the construction of the “B’ar Ketchin Car” from over East Tennessee way.

The build log chronicles an over the top Tennessee Tall Tale about a monster bear terrorizing the Smoky Mountains and the Little River Rail Road and the heroic men set on “ketchin that thar b’ar.”

Doc Tom

Well as of Groundhog’s Day here is where we stand with Moose’s Chariot. This is the first moose powered logging locomotive known to mankind. moosekind have not been documenting their history in photographs.

I have yet to add some stuff so stay tuned!

Here is the progress as of a February 7th:

I tried the Album Route for posting this photo…seems to work fine!

We’re constructing The California Experience. A horse galloping in a pipe powers the wheels to pull the Experience from town to town then is hoisted up onto the car to power the Endless Wave (where a surfer will ride in a continuously breaking wave) and the hot tub.

Here’s the state of progress on the travelling Pay Station & Branch Line Manager’s Headquarters. Boy oh boy do I have a lot of work to do, but I can see the whole thing in my head and I can see where it might, maybe, perhaps, possibly be doable by the end of the Challenge. I envision a couple of long nights ahead of me.

Chicago Hardware and Foundry #2

Lots more to come…

Be afraid!

Construction is progressing on the flatcar from the Dirty and Dusty Railway. What’s next?

This is as far as I’ve got…

The loco mostly turns left on account of having brake rigging on just one side at present. It’s also a touch windy for the crew.

‘Project’ is a GE E60c that’s lost 3/4 of its length and been squeezed down onto metre gauge.

Halfway?

Finally got the ability to post photos back. It seems the new site doesn’t like internet explorer browser so now it is Firefox.

Here is a recent update photo of my build. With a week and a few days left I should be able to finish.

Doodads and paint to go… then interior if it needs it.

The original was cobbled together from a Buro crane drive and street car bodies. I bashed for similar.

She’s steady eddy, not too tipsy.

Details coming.
