I would like to re use the connectors on my Bachmann Indy and was wondering if anyone knew of a source of some replacement pins (I think that is what they are called). I went to the local electronics store and they just wanted to sell me connectors they had in stock, and were not compatible with the bachmann connectors.

What is wrong with the one in the photo ? If it won’t stay in the plug the most likely problem is the small tab located on the terminal. It is designed to lock the terminal in the connector. If it gets mashed down flat next to the terminal body it won’t latch. If that is the case just bend it back up to about a 30º angle using the blade of an x-acto knife and reinsert it. The tab should catch and lock it in place.

I want to use new \ higher quality wire rather than re use the Bachman wire.

Your not going to be able to use wire of a larger gauge in those connectors. Unless you can make the gauge larger wire is wire. Is it damaged? If not, just re-use it. The Indy does not draw much current.
