Have acrylic car kits now available. They are CNC cut from 7/32 acrylic. Scale is 1:20.3. They are all narrow gauge cars from drawings in "A Century plus Ten" D&RGW book. My seemingly endless supply of acrylic went fast creating these so supplies are rather limited. I have the following: D&RGW 40 foot Reefer - Basic shell available in scribed and unscribed. Kit contains bottom, 2 ends, 2 sides, two roof panels and under roof braces. Roof is inset into the body shell due to the thickness of the plastic. (first pic shows a prototype which illustrates why the roof was changed to be inset) This allows a proper thickness roof covering to extend over the body. ![]() ![]() Cost - plain $28 scribed $40 D&RGW 30 foot car - Basic shell available in scribed and unscribed. Kit contains bottom, 2 ends, 2 sides, two roof panels and under roof braces. Roof is inset into the body shell due to the thickness of the plastic. This allows a proper thickness roof covering to extend over the body. Usable to create reefers, boxcars, work, commissary and other cars of the same length. Same car as above but shorter! Cost - plain $28 scribed $40 D&RGW Caboose - Basic shell available in scribed and unscribed. Kit contains bottom, 2 ends with separate CNC paneled doors, 2 sides, two roof panels, under roof braces, cupola sides, ends and roof. Window opening corners will need to be squared as they are cut with a rotary bit. ![]() ![]() ![]() Cost - plain $40 scribed $52 Shipping is not included but will be at actual cost, flat rate if its cheaper. LSC chat regulars can pay by any means with immediate shipment upon receipt. Others should provide payment via USPS MO, PayPal or personal check (kits held until check clears). Andre, I saw your kits at Marty's, they looked very interesting. So are these narrow guage or standard gauge cars? ![]() |

Sorry guys, forgot to include that in the original posting. They are 1:20.3 narrow gauge cars from D&RGW drawings. I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. |

Be simple to glue wood coffee stir sticks over the plastic, around the windows. Life is too short to take seriously. |

Andre' Nice looking kits. What type of CNC are you using. I have a Vortect CNC Router with a 5'x 10' table. I'm doing some designs and drawings now for some building kits I want to produce in 1:29 and 1:20.3 scale. Chuck |

MEK, Testors, any number of glues suitable for acrylic will work fine. Some use Goop products others epoxy for the wood siding and details. Bruce Chandler is likely to chime in with what he uses as will Bart. Andre` I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I use Acrylic cement that I get from TAP Plastics, it's like water and finds it's way into every crack. You'll need an applicator. Also Weld-On 16 from the same place. It's more like thin syrup - best if it's not a tight fit. For gluing on parts, I use an odorless CA, but I also make sure that I have a good mechanical connection - so I might use escutcheon pins as well. |

Supply of kits is about 30 of each model. Not quite as many scribed. Andre' I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. |

And there is now a post in the modeling forum for discussion on how to build one of these: http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCFor … 93#p109393 The article will be completed at a later date. |
