Topic: Garden Railroad Slide Show

Message: It's coming together pretty well. I've done in in powerpoint because I wanted to have captions for the pix. I'll have a soundtrack and automatic timing, but it's not working out correctly. (The timing; the soundtrack seems OK. IF there's a way to put a PP show on this list, I might share it.

Topic: Computer related topic

Message: I know that I have IE8 onboard and yet You-tube is still telling me that I am running IE7 and that it will no longer support IE7. Finally, PayPal has woken to the fact that I am running a current up to date browser and has stopped advising me of security issues with my 'supposed' current system. Not withstanding the current fiasco, I am sticking with IE8, as up to the past few days I had never had an internet browser issue. The system restore yesterday removed the Google Chrome browser and it will not be reloaded. For a computer novice, I find IE8 is fine. I do not have enough experience to know when it is giving me grief, unless complete failure/shutdown occurs.

Message: Thanks all for the input. I have gotten a couple of real good ideas.@Mike - a suggestion, before you pour your alcohol back in the bottles try a conical coffee filter. The alcohol is thin enough to flow right through, but should catch most if not all of the particulate paint. Great idea for the wallpaper container - is it the metal one or plastic?Bob C.

Message: The PSC ones are very nice, though yes 1:24. They are scale so if you need the size just take the real length/width and divide. You would be better off buying the Bachmann ones. Plus they are much cheaper and lettered for Gramps. Also the PSC cars usually go for 275-350@ realistically

They must have improved it since I last tried it
They build multi-million dollar homes with OSB.I'm old school, still prefer plywood Ralph
Last time I tried it, which has to be at least 10 years ago, it was not very dimensionally stable. Moisture tended to enter the edges and it would swell. They do use it around here for home building, but it's covered in house wrap almost immediately before any moisture can get to it.

Topic: Computer related topic

Message: I use XP Pro with SP3. It has only ever crashed once, just before I added SP3. One odd thing though. Starting about 6 weeks ago everyday there are always at least two updates to be installed when I shut the pooter down. Sometimes as many as ten or eleven updates.I regularly defrag and use CCleaner to get rid of temp files etc.I also only use IE8 for general Internet access and it works just fine for me.My (young) webmaster makes me use Firefox for working on my website. Every time I go to use Firefox it seems like there is a new and improved version available which means I don't get to do any work until it has downloaded and installed itself.Never used any other browsers on my computer, so cannot comment about them.Safari is installed on my (old) I Phone which I find a pain to use.
